My background
Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, I now live and work in London as a fine arts printmaker, teacher and studio coordinator. During my studies I began managing the print studios at Stellenbosch University as both a technician and later as a lecturer. Teaching within the Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Art Theory departments expanded my understanding of contemporary issues around art praxis while continuing to hone my professional printing and collaboration skills.
It was in running the printshop at London Print Studio that I was able to combine my love of teaching, the technicalities of print and working collaboratively with artists. Over time I was also able to establish myself as a master printer and continue my research into the philosophical, methodological and technical aspects of contemporary print. Alongside creative collaborations and professional projects, I continue my research and making as a fine artist, curate exhibitions and presented public lectures and technical courses.
